wandering the blogging desert

...for those of you still wandering around trying to find your feet and coming to terms with the possibility that modblog might never return, and even if it does it might not be for long - and don't call me a traitor, because honestly who throws a shoe, and how much are we supposed to put up with? - there is a free blogging service called efx2Blogs that is looking pretty darn close to what modblog is/ was. built-in features include :

extra pages

categories

gallery

shoutbox

online poll

this and this are examples of what can be done with the 'limited' abilities of a regular account. efx2 appears to be fairly new, but it looks like there was an efx that's been running for a while before that. i am setting up a mirror blog there to try it out and fiddle with the controls [i do so love to fiddle with things...].

just don't everybody all sign up at once.

::update:: okay, what you want to do is choose 'legacy' from the drop-down list when choosing your blog type [under 'blog config' i think...]. then go to the admin 'home' page and 'turn on advanced template controls'. that allows you to switch things around on the template as you please! omg, i am very close to peeing my pants right now XD
